PTC® surface thermometers are thermodynamically designed to measure surface temperatures. These units have been calibrated for use in an ambient temperature of approximately 70°F (21°C).
Place the instrument on a horizontal surface and allow it to reach stability for approximately 3 minutes. The instrument features two built-in magnets that act as the base and hold the thermometer firmly to any non-horizontal ferrous surface.
