The PTC^® Model 655B Conversion Calculator based on the Rockwell B Scale and includes the following scales: Rockwell A, B, F, an K; Brinell (10 mm) 3000 kgf and 500 kgf; Tensile Strength; Rockwell 15T, 30T, and 45T; Knoop; and Vickers. The conversion values of this calculator are consistent with ASTM A-370 Table 3B. When the radial cursor is set on a designated value for one scale, it indicates the equivalent value on all the others. The calculator is 6" in diameter and is 0.02" thick plastic. The cursor disk is printed with black copy and the scales are printed in red. The Hardness-Tensile Strength relations may vary according to the processing history or to the chemical composition of the steel. The Model 655B is intended for use with nonaustenitic steel and ferritic or martensitic stainless steels. They should not be relied on for austenitic steels, nickel, or high nickel steels.
