The PTC^® 512C Digital Durometer is a state of the art durometer that is the ultimate instrument for hand held hardness testing. The larger diameter base and grip increase stability and maximize repeatabilty. Model 512C is built to meet or exceed current ASTM D2240 specifications for Type C durometers. The durometer measures hardness of materials such as medium hard rubber, thermoplastics, elastomers, medium hard plastics, acrylic, delrin, kevlar, pvc, nylon and lexan, epoxies, and other similar ASTM Type C materials.

The Digital Durometer features a large direct read LCD display, electronic max hand, RS232 data ports for computer compatibility, a locking feature to prevent accidental erasure of tolerances, automatic shutoff and low battery warning.

PTC Metrology is Accredited by A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 for durometer calibration. NIST traceable certification is available for any durometer type covered by current ASTM D2440, ASTM F1957, ISO 868, ISO 7619, or DIN 53505 standards. The Calibration Report will include both "as received" and "as left" data on the force curve measurement. Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, indicator linearity from 0 to 100, and mainspring force. Other durometer types, custom models, and durometers of any manufacture can also be certified by PTC Metrology.
