ASTM D2240 Type A,B,C,D,OOO

The Classic Style Durometers from PTC Instruments are built to meet or exceed current ASTM D2240, and ISO 868 specifications and are the most popular durometer sold today. The rugged aluminum housing offers extra protection against rough handling and high usage and is the preferred model for testing printing rollers.

PTC now offers the model 306L.5 Half Point Durometer. The ultimate for todays synthetic polymers with ±1/2 point accuracy.

The Model 306L measures the indentation hardness of rubber, elastomers, and other rubber-like substances, such as neoprene, silicone, vinyl, nitrile, and butyl. It can also be used for soft plastics, felt, leather, and similar materials. The Classic Style Durometers are available in Type A, B, C, D and OOO.

This durometer can be used either with a test stand, hand-held or with the constant load weight. Please refer to the stand selection guide for appropriate instruments. The PTC® Classic Style Durometer comes complete with carrying case, test block and the standard maximum hand holds the peak reading until reset.

PTC Metrology is Accredited by A2LA for durometer calibration to ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1. NIST Traceable certification is available for all durometer types covered by current ASTM D2440, ASTM F1957, ISO 868, ISO 7619, or DIN 53505 standards. The Calibration Report will include both "as received" and "as left" data. Complete Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, indicator linearity from 0 to 100 and mainspring force.
