Operating Stands are capable of applying the specimen to the indentor with recommended force sufficient to overcome the calibrated spring force.
Pneumatic dampening stands are capable of controlling the rate of descent of the indentor to specimen as recommended by ASTM D2240.
The PTC®: Stand Guide will assist you in the selection of the test stand to your durometer. Select the stand and the link will take you directly to the web page.

Test Stands can be custom engineered for measuring unique items or materials. Contact us with your specifications,
we can design a test stand and durometer for your application.
PTC Metrology is Accredited by A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 for durometer calibration. NIST traceable certification is available for any durometer type covered by current ASTM D2440, ASTM F1957, ISO 868, ISO 7619, or DIN 53505 standards. The Calibration Report will include both "as received" and "as left" data on the force curve measurement. Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, indicator linearity from 0 to 100, and mainspring force. Other durometer types, custom models, and durometers of any manufacture can also be certified by PTC Metrology.
