Emissivity/ Reflectivity
Emissivity ratio is the rate of energy emitted from an objects surface condition, primarily by how reflective that surface is. Dark or painted surfaces and most organic things ( wood, water, plastics, food, ceramics, etc.) reflect very little while shiny or oxidized metallic surfaces do reflect the infrared from surrounding objects.
Every object radiates invisible infrared light based on it's temperature. Through a set of optics and a sensing element, the Infrared Thermometer detects this amount of radiant energy and instantaneously displays the corresponding temperature. The revolutionary method of instantaneous and non contact temperature measurement, harnessed in a compact unit of advanced electronic technology, is truly the " next generation " thermometer.

The On-Line Infrared Thermometers are engineered specifically for use on the production line to measure moving objects quickly and accurately from a safe distance. They measure targets within a temperature range of 32°F to 932°F (0°C to 500°C) with a 500 millisecond response, at a ±1% level of precision. A built-in coaxial laser marker easily targets objects, with a 30mm diameter field of view. It has a 1°resolution on its digital display, and a 0.2°output resolution. Temperature scale is °F/°C switchable. One of its most unique features is the E-TEACH function for automatic adjustment of the emissivity ratio. The On-Line Infrared Thermometers have two choices of analog output: TV-type (1mV/°C) which connects to such devices as a panel meter, or TA-type (4-20mA), for long distance transmissions. An optional air purge collar adapts this unit to dusty environments. Applications range from the manufacturing of food, metal, glass, ceramics, rubber, synthetic resin, to medical, petrochemical, automotive, electrical and industrial uses. |
