NEW ASTM "R" DESIGNATION !

The ultimate durometer for accurate hardness measurements of rubber, elastomers, and other rubber like substances such as neoprene, silicone, vinyl, nitrile, and butyl. PTC's Model 501AR has a rubber grip and a 18mm diameter presser foot conforming to the latest ASTM D2240 standards.  Type R is a designation, rather than a true “type”. The R designation specifies a presser foot diameter of 18 ± 0.5 mm (0.71 ± 0.02 in) in diameter, while the spring forces and indenter configurations remain unchanged; The R designation is available on any e2000 Millennium Style Durometer, Digital or Analog. The R designation, when applicable, is expressed as Type xR, where x is the D2240 type, e.g., aR; dR; eR; etc.

A NIST traceable certification from PTC® Metrology is available with all PTC® Analog Durometers. Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, force curve measurement, and indicator linearity.

Certification reports by PTC Metrology are also available for DIN, JIS, ISO, Asker, proprietary standards and other durometer brands. Test blocks are not certifiable.
