Custom Durometers for Unigue Applications

All PTC Durometers are Made in the USA

PTC® Instruments has been manufacturing a full line of quality durometers and durometer accessories since 1946.   Our durometers are made to meet or exceed current ASTM D2240, ASTM F1957, JIS, and DIN standards. PTC's engineering and applications department has manufactured numerous custom configurations for unique or unusual materials. Listed below are a few custom durometers that are currently being used today.

PTC® Instruments will help you determine the correct durometer for any application at no charge. For custom applications PTC® will evaluate your material and recommend a durometer type or recommend a custom configuration based on your specific material and hardness range. Selecting the correct durometer type has become increasingly more difficult due to the large number of instruments and standards available today.

Drywall Durometer

PTC®'s Model 414 USG Durometer designed for dry wall manufacturers in process control. The instrument features a low glare aluminum serialized dial and has a maximum reading hand.  Test block and carrying case are also included

PTC Metrology is Accredited by A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 for durometer calibration. NIST traceable certification is available. The Calibration Report will include both "as received" and "as left" data on the force curve measurement. Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, indicator linearity from 0 to 100, and mainspring force. Other durometer types, custom models, and durometers of any manufacture can also be certified by PTC Metrology.
