The PTC ConstaLoader® precision engineered durometer test stand has an pneumatic dampening cylinder to give a smooth, controlled rate of descent as recommended by ASTM D2240. When properly used, this stand and your durometer will make the most accurate hardness readings. Contact tech support if you need assistance in selecting a test stand at sales@ptc1.com. For increased repeatability ASTM recommends an operating stand capable of controlling the rate of descent of the indenter to the specimen at a maximum of 3.2 mm/s (0.125 in./s and applying a force sufficient to overcome the calibrated spring force. PTC Metrology is Accredited by A2LA for durometer calibration to ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1. NIST Traceable certification is available for all durometer types covered by current ASTM D2440, ASTM F1957, ISO 868, ISO 7619, or DIN 53505 standards. The Calibration Report will include both "as received" and "as left" data. Complete Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, indicator linearity from 0 to 100 and mainspring force.
