Medium Density Textile Windings, Wound Thread and YarnThe PTC® Ergo Style Durometers are manufactured to meet or exceed current ASTM D2240 specifications and designed to measure the indentation hardness of soft rubber, medium density textile windings, foamed elastomers and wound threads. This durometer is similar in configuration to the durometer type commonly known as Asker C. They can also be used for soft plastics, felt, leather, and similar materials. The 408E has an aluminum die-cast case that tapers to a 1" x 1" base. It has a removable mounting knob for comfortable handheld use, a maximum reading hand, test block, and carrying case. These durometers can be used either with a test stand or as hand-held testers. These durometers can be used either with a test stand or as handheld testers. The Model 408E can be used with PTC®'s Model 320, 471, 472 or 473 Test Stands; or with the Model 441 Constant Load Weight for hand-held tests. The model 408E Durometer comes complete with max hand for indicating peak readings. |

PTC Metrology is Accredited by A2LA for durometer calibration to ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1. NIST Traceable certification is available for all durometer types covered by current ASTM D2440, ASTM F1957, ISO 868, ISO 7619, or DIN 53505 standards. The Calibration Report will include both "as received" and "as left" data. Complete Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, indicator linearity from 0 to 100 and mainspring force.
