Type B: For Hard Rubber and Elastomers

Model 306BL is built to meet or exceed current ASTM D2240 Specifications for Type B durometers. The durometer measures the indentation hardness of rubber, elastomers, and other rubber-like substances, moderately hard rubber, paper products and fibrous materials.

The durometer can be used either with a test stand, hand-held or with the constant load weight. Please refer to the stand selection guide for the appropriate accessories. The PTC® classic style Durometer comes complete with carrying case, test block and magnetic max hand.

PTC Metrology is Accredited by A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 for durometer calibration. NIST traceable certification is available for any durometer type covered by current ASTM D2440, ASTM F1957, ISO 868, ISO 7619, or DIN 53505 standards. The Calibration Report will include both "as received" and "as left" data on the force curve measurement. Durometer calibration includes: indenter geometry and extension, indicator linearity from 0 to 100, and mainspring force. Other durometer types, custom models, and durometers of any manufacture can also be certified by PTC Metrology.
